Actonomy xMP Search & Match

By emulating the way recruiters search for CVs, Actonomy xMP gets much better and faster search results  (about 5 times faster compared to other search solutions).  AI and semantics are used to find more relevant results within the context of your search request.

Actonomy xMP is a semantic matching platform allowing to search and match CVs and vacancies in a smart way.  Actonomy  analyses all the vacancy and CV data that reside in the Bullhorn system (or optionally in external sources) and extracts the relevant content such as experience, jobtitles, skills, education,….  This information is enriched with related concepts and used to match with vacancies or CVs. 

Searching for a ‘channel manager’ will also include ‘indirect sales manager’,  ‘distribution manager’….  By adding words that are also relevant in the context, the system will expand your search query : ‘channel manager’ will also be selected if the system detects ‘sales manager focussing on channels’.

 xMP analyses your vacancy or CV, the way recruiters read it and the way they make meaningful relations between the words. Obviously, the most recent work experience is on top of the list!

The ‘brain’ behind the xMP system is the largest HRM knowledge base (ontology) in the industry covering millions of concepts structured as functions, skills, educations,…. 

In addition to the ‘HRM specific information’, the system is using fuzzy matching or radial search for geolocation.  It detects locations directly, calculates the distance based on location or zip code and ranks results based on distance.

The Actonomy xMP plug-in module allows multiple ways to browse through your data :

  • A single search/match box – Actonomy empowered search - in which you type a query without the need to use cumbersome Boolean operators.  ‘Project manager with experience in Prince2 living in NY’, will result in correct candidates.  It will even include ‘program managers’ with a lower ranking should ‘project managers’ not be available. Also, it will search for candidates with knowledge on similar project methods and rank them lower!
  • Simply upload a job description and press search to get candidates.  The system will analyse, extract (parse) and match in a single pass.  No waste of time, no wrong parsing effects,  just straight results that match your job description!
  • Simply select a CV and get similar candidates without the need to structure information or to define what is required. The system analyses for you!


At any time, rely on the results : the system will give you details on why a match was found and what criteria contributed to  the results. Get to know what experience was detected, what alternative criteria were used and which skills were detected in the profile.

Once results are found, the standard Bullhorn distribution mechanism allows you to blend the results with your other working lists!
